Sita Coaches helped ensure the recent AIME (Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo) was a success. Sita Coaches was involved in a number of pre-tour famils for the visiting hosted buyers from Australia and around the world. From city sights touring and transfers to regional touring of Phillip Island, Sita ensured the valued buyers travelled in comfort with our experienced drivers.

Sita Coaches also provided the transfers to/from the AIME Welcome Function held at the Queen Victoria Markets. With up to 20 coaches providing transfers for the delegates, Sita's team of on ground logistics staff kept the coaches moving smoothly.

Sita's Director of Sales & Marketing, Mark Phelps, described the event as "a great success, and it was a great opportunity to showcase our coaches and ability to handle these type of events to the people that matter - Conference and Event Organisers, Incentive Houses, Corporates, Government and Associations."

In 2009 Sita Coaches celebrates it's 50th year of operation having been established by George Sita in 1959. The company has come along way since George started the business with one coach for general charter work. The company now has over 180 coaches and 280 employees.

The Sita group is very much a hands-on family operation with George Sita as Chief Director. Son Dominic Sita is Managing Director and responsible for the day to day management of the Melbourne Headquarters. Two of George’s other sons Charlie and Rob are both in the Operations Department, three of George’s Grandsons are also working in the office the family atmosphere at Sita Coaches is obvious.

It is this strong family bond and hands on approach that has seen Sita Coaches grow into such a successful company, one that has been involved in many major events such as the Sydney Olympics in 2000, handling 13,000 Amway China incentive delegates, World Youth Day and coordinating over 260 coaches for the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

Sita Buslines also provides vital public route services throughout the Western Suburbs and this will continue to grow as areas such as Melton and Caroline Springs continue to develop.

Sita Coaches continues to provide charter services to schools in the area as it has done so for many years.

Victoria’s Transport minister Peter Batchelor awarded the public transport operators, contractors and staff at Melbourne’s Commonwealth Games a ‘gold medal for an outstanding contribution to the games success’.

Sita Coaches has recently invested over $4.6 million in purchasing 10 brand new 50 seat Volvo touring coaches, aimed at capitalizing on Australia's re-bounding tourism market.

The purchase of these new vehicles reinforces Sita Groups' ongoing investment in Australia's dynamic tourism industry and keeping the company at the forefront, with the latest technologies.

Sita Coaches decision to invest in these new coaches has been buoyed by positive growth in Australia's tourism figures, and a very positive and enthusiastic response by existing and new clientele within domestic and international markets.

Managing Director, Mr Dominic Sita, believes the significant investment is already reaping rewards with very positive feedback from existing clientele as well as new business from other sources.

"This investment is viewed as very timely for us, with Australia's positive Tourism growth in recent times, and hype leading up to the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in 2006, we are in a strong position to capitalize on new business by having the most up to date fleet of coaches available."

"We are also targeting more conference and event based business, which our large fleet and our new coaches are ideal for." Mr Sita said.

Sita Coaches has recently been awarded the contract to provide bus transport for the Commonwealth Games Family. Under this contract, Sita is committed to provide transport for up to 13,500 Athletes, Team and Technical Officials, Media and Rightsholders, VIP's and Games Workforce participants on a daily basis.

Managing Director, Mr Dominic Sita has already announced plans to increase the size of the company's office accommodation to house the Commonwealth Games bus control centre and in recognition of the company's recent involvement in other major events, such as the Avalon Airshow contract, awarded to Sita Coaches by the Department of Infrastructure earlier this year.
